Everton want Manchester City outcast

Everton are preparing a £16m bid for Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph, claims The Sun.

Delph is closing in on a City exit this summer after dropping well down the pecking order this year.

The England international has previously resisted the chance to leave City but faces the prospect of very little playing time next term.

Delph’s future at City is even more bleak following Rodrigo’s club-record arrival from Atletico Madrid last week.

City spent £62.8m on the Spain international after identifying the midfielder as Fernandinho’s long-term replacement.

With Ilkay Gundogan also now set to stay, coupled with the fact Delph is no longer required at left-back, Everton are ready to hand the 29-year-old regular playing time next season.

Delph has started just 31 Premier League matches in three seasons under Guardiola and was limited to just 11 league appearances in total last term.
