Premier League high-flyers eye up Totti move

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri is eyeing a move for Roma legend Francesco Totti, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football Italia.

Totti, 39, has been a mainstay in the Roma side since breaking though from the academy 24 years ago.

However, the former Italy international has fallen out of favour with Luciano Spalletti since his return to the club and has only started a game since September.

The Roma No.10 has entered the final few months of his current deal at the Stadio Olimpico and has reportedly been informed his deal will not be renewed.

It remains to be seen whether Totti will continue playing elsewhere or simply hang up his boots and move into the backroom staff at Roma. However, Ranieri is hopefully of luring his fellow countryman to the King Power Stadium, which has previously housed veterans Esteban Cambiasso, as well as Gokhan Inhler this season.

No player has appeared more times in Serie A history than Totti and only Silvio Piola (274) has scored more goals in Italy’s top-flight than the Roma legend (244).
