Manchester United rocked by long-term injury to key man

Manchester United have been served a huge blow with news Paul Pogba could be sidelined for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury, reports BBC Sport.

Pogba was pictured leaving Old Trafford on crutches on Tuesday night after limping off midway through the first half of United’s 3-0 win over FC Basel with a suspected hamstring injury.

Scan results have since confirmed United’s worst fears and Jose Mourinho is now expected to be without his star midfielder for between four and six weeks.

It means Pogba will definitely miss matches against Everton, Burton, Southampton, CSKA Moscow and Crystal Palace, while the France international could even miss United’s trip to Anfield in exactly one month’s time.

Beyond United’s clash against Liverpool on October 14, Pogba also remains doubtful for games against Benfica, Huddersfield and Tottenham.

Pogba is currently the highest rated player in the Premier League (8.09) after playing a direct hand in four goals (two goals, two assists) in United’s first four league games of the season.
