Watford will attempt to make Nathan Ake’s loan switch permanent at the end of the season, according to The Daily Express.
Ake, 21, has been in sublime form for the Hornets this season and his performances have largely gone under the radar.
The Netherlands Under-21 international has been a first-team regular under Quique Sanchez Flores and he is unlikely to get the same game time at Chelsea.
Ake signed a new long-term contract with the Blues before joining Watford and has previously insisted his ambition is to break through into the Chelsea first-team. A £3m bid, however, could reportedly be enough to snap up the versatile Dutch defender.
Of players aged 21 and under to have made more than five appearances this season, only Dele Alli (7.29) and Anthony Martial (7.21) have garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Ake (7.20).
