Thomas Muller has revealed he had offers to leave Bayern Munich before he put pen to paper on a new long-term deal in December.
The Germany international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer and Louis van Gaal’s side reportedly failed with a £77m approach for the forward.
However, Muller has revealed it made no sense to leave Bayern, who he believes are in the top three clubs in Europe.
“Yes, there were offers,” Muller told German newspaper Abendzeitung.
“But looking at the football side, we are in the top three in Europe alongside Barcelona and Madrid."
Muller has been in tremendous form for Bayern this season, although he has only managed two goals in his last 10 outings for Bayern having scored 10 in his previous 11 before that.
The 26-year-old has also not scored a goal in front of his own fans since November (vs Hertha Berlin).
