West Ham target moves to China

Galatasaray forward Burak Yilmaz is the latest player to swap Europe for China after joining Beijing Guoan for £6.2m.

Yilmaz, 30, had been a transfer target for West Ham in the January transfer window but the Hammers were only willing to take the Turkish striker on loan until the end of the season.

He has instead followed in the footsteps of Jackson Martinez and Gervinho in accepting a lucrative move to China after penning terms on a four-year deal worth a reported £6m-a-year.

In the last two Turkish Super Lig campaigns, only Fernandao (29) has scored more clear-cut chances than Yilmaz (21).
