Manchester United keeping tabs on Ligue 1 ace

Manchester United made checks on Nice star Jean Micheal Seri this week, with the Premier League side keeping tabs on the midfielder, reports the Daily Mail.

Seri was heavily linked with a move away from the French side last summer, with Arsenal and Barcelona interested, but Nice successfully warded off interest in one of their prized assets.

However, they’re gearing up for another summer of speculation amidst rumours United are monitoring his situation closely.

Jose Mourinho is expected to revamp his squad at the end of the season and bolster his midfield options.

Seri is believed to be a top target for the Portuguese boss and will have been impressed by the Ivorian’s performance in midweek, despite a 3-2 loss to Lokomotiv Moscow.

Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in Seri, but are behind United in the race to lure the 26-year-old to England.

Only Marco Verratti (92.4) is averaging more passes per game than Seri (85.8) in France’s top tier this term, though he may drop out of the Nice XI to face Nantes on Sunday.
