Serie A side Udinese have announced they have rewarded in-form Argentine forward Rodrigo de Paul with a new five-year deal running until 2023.
De Paul still had three years left to run on his previous contract but Udinese have moved to secure his long-term future following a stunning start to the season.
The 24-year-old joined Udinese from Valencia in 2016 after struggling to establish himself as a first-team regular for Los Che but is now one of the most in-form players in Serie A.
De Paul’s performances are even more outstanding when you consider Udinese are only one place above the bottom three, winning only two of their opening 10 matches.
Udinese have only scored eight league goals this season and De Paul has played a direct hand in eight of them (five goals, three assists).
He is unsurprisingly Udinese’s highest WhoScored rated player (7.59) and a long way ahead of second (Samir – 6.99).
