Lucas Digne has revealed he had offers from the Premier League this summer before he eventually joined Barcelona.
The 23-year-old was a £13.8m signing for Barcelona this summer to add competition with Jordi Alba at left-back.
Digne has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool and the France international has admitted there were offers on the table from England’s top tier this summer.
“I had two proposals from England, but when Barca called me, I didn’t think about it. It is an opportunity that you can not turn down,” Digne told Le Parisien, via Sport.
“I had always had the objective of playing for one of the great clubs, and I am sure that I will learn a lot.
Digne has only played 14 minutes in La Liga this campaign. Digne scored more goals last season with Roma (3) than he had managed in his previous four combined (2).
