Borussia Dortmund look to Premier League for Mkhitaryan replacement
Borussia Dortmund could make a move for Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri this summer as a replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, reports the Stoke Sentinel.
Mkhitaryan left Dortmund for Manchester United earlier this month following a three-year spell for the Bundesliga giants, leaving Thomas Tuchel short of wide options.
The German side have since earmarked Shaqiri as a potential replacement on the flank as Dortmund look to strengthen before the coming season.
Stoke are understandably keen to retain the services of the Switzerland international, who joined the Potters for a then club-record £14.5m from Inter 12 months ago.
However, they could be willing to entertain offers for the 24-year-old should Stoke receive a decent bid for Shaqiri.
Shaqiri was Switzerland’s second highest rated player at Euro 2016 (7.38) with one goal and one assist contributing to that return this summer.
