Chelsea target wants Premier League move

Chelsea have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Leon Bailey after the Bayer Leverkusen star reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League.

Bailey only joined Leverkusen at the start of 2017 but has already been linked with a big money move to the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal this season.

While a January move appears unlikely at this stage, the 20-year-old has revealed playing in England is his dream.

“Of course I have a dream club, but I will not tell,” Bailey told Bild, via the London Evening Standard. “Basically England was and still is my dream.

“And if I keep working hard, I’m sure it will work someday. The change to Bayer was just the right step for my development. I am happy here.

“And we have every chance to get into the Champions League. Europe is our big goal.”

Leverkusen fans had to be patient before seeing the best of Bailey. The youngster only made eight substitute appearances in the second half of last season but has exploded into form for the Bundesliga giants this time around.

Bailey has played a direct hand in 10 goals (six goals, four assists) in 14 league appearances this season at a rate of every 97 minutes.
