One condition that would see midfielder swap Barcelona for Newcastle revealed

Newcastle could make a move for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer, but the Chilean would only move to St. James' Park on one condition, reports Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.

The Magpies are set to be taken over by a consortium headed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in a deal worth around £300m.

With a major cash injection, Newcastle have been linked with a move for a host of big name players, the latest of which is Vidal.

The 32-year-old has been restricted to just eight league starts for Barcelona this season and is expected to be allowed to leave when the transfer window opens.

A move to the Premier League has been on the cards in the past, with Manchester United previously courting the former Bayern Munich and Juventus star.

However, Newcastle are believed to have entered the race for Vidal and while the midfielder is open to the move to England, he'd only move to the Magpies if Max Allegri is appointed as Steve Bruce's replacement.

Bruce hasn't necessarily done a poor job for the Magpies, but the new owners would likely favour their own man at the St. James' Park helm, with Allegri currently out of contract following his Juventus departure last summer.

Vidal worked with Allegri at Juventus for just one season before his 2015 move to Bayern Munich and the former would be keen to link up with the latter once more.
