Sevilla are determined to re-sign Tottenham defender Federico Fazio, according to Marca.
Fazio, 28, only move to White Hart Lane from Sevilla in 2014 but has failed to make any impact on Mauricio Pochettino.
Unai Emery failed to bring Fazio back to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan over the summer and is looking to rekindle his interest in January with defensive reinforcements their main priority.
The reigning Europa League champions are hoping to finalise a loan deal for the Argentina international, but Marca reports Spurs will not even consider the move until the January window reopens.
Fazio is still waiting to make his first Premier League appearance of the season, but last year he finished as Spurs’ highest rated player, according to WhoScored.com’s rating system (7.39). Moreover, only Christian Benteke (6.5) won more aerial duels per game than Fazio (4.8) in England’s top-flight during that period.
