Paris Saint-Germain mull summer move for Manchester United wantaway

Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, claims The Independent.

Pogba has confirmed he wants to leave United this summer but Real Madrid and Juventus are balking at the finances required to get a deal over the line.

United are adamant Pogba will not be sold despite his comments over the weekend and the feeling is it will take a bid of £150m to change their stance.

Neither Madrid nor Juventus are willing to go that high for Pogba, which has opened the door for PSG to make their move.

The Ligue 1 champions are open to Neymar’s departure this summer after growing tired of his behaviour on and off the pitch.

Neymar’s exit would open the door for another high profile name and PSG would have no problem paying more than their rivals to land Pogba.

PSG are willing to do exactly that to beat United and Barcelona to Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt, who shares the same agent as Pogba.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have reportedly offered the 19-year-old wages in excess of £300,000-a-week to snub a move to their European rivals.

PSG are also keen on United goalkeeper David de Gea, who has entered the final 12 months of his current deal, and are prepared to match his demands.

It remains to be seen whether a move to PSG would be the right thing for Pogba’s career, but it’s clear that his agent, Mino Raiola, has a huge influence on him.

As Raiola appears to have pointed De Ligt in the direction of the French side, he could almost certainly do the same for Pogba if PSG stump up the right money.

Pogba is coming off his best ever league campaign in terms of goals after netting 13 times in the Premier League in 2018/19.
