Crystal Palace boss confident of Wan-Bissaka stay amid Manchester United interest

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson says he is confident Aaron Wan-Bissaka will remain at the club next season despite interest from Tottenham and Manchester United.

Wan-Bissaka has been a revelation for Palace since making his Premier League debut over 12 months ago and is now being tipped with a big money move in the summer.

United and Tottenham have both been heavily linked with a move for the 21-year-old, as both Premier League sides look to shore up their backlines for next year.

Wan-Bissaka put pen to paper on a contract extension 12 months ago and Hodgson expects to have the England Under-21 international to call on next season.

“it is always hard to say whether a player would have their head-turned by speculation of that type,” Hodgson told Sky Sports after Saturday’s 1-0 win at Newcastle.

“I don’t believe that an offer has been made and I think this is still speculation. I can’t say that I am surprised [about reported interest], I think he is playing so well and he has an incredible future in front of him.

“But he has a four-year contract with us and when we asked him to sign that, we were asking him to be a Crystal Palace during that time.

“And I’ve not seen anything in his performances, or heard anything that causes me to change my mind or have any doubts that he is going to be our player.

“But if that speculation comes to pass and on offer comes to the table, then it will be up to the club to make a decision I suppose.”
