Besiktas have announced they have signed former Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez on a season-long loan deal from Fiorentina.
The Turkish Giants have been linked with the Germany international all summer and confirmed they had entered talks with Fiorentina on Wednesday.
Şenol Güneş’ side have now wrapped up discussions and will have a view to make the loan move permanent at the end of the season, the club have announced.
“Besiktas announce that Thursday the club reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the loan of Mario Garcia Gomez, a statement read on the club’s website.
“The contract includes an option to make the deal permanent.”

In the resulting three years, Gomez has only managed to score 18 league goals has been limited to just 30 league starts in that time.
