Tottenham pondering January recall for out-of-favour midfielder
Tottenham are weighing up whether to recall Tanguy Ndombele from his loan spell at Galatasaray this month in order to beef up their midfield ranks, reports FootballTransfers.
The Frenchman left for the Turkish side in the summer but initially struggled to make an impact for the Super Lig powerhouse.
However, while Spurs were previously happy for Ndombele to remain with Galatasaray, recent positive reports suggest he is starting to rediscover his best form.
That has led to suggestions that head coach Ange Postecoglou is keen to reintegrate the former Lyon man back into the Spurs squad for the second half of the season with the north London side currently without Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma due to their AFCON participation.
Much of that is dependent on whether Spurs can secure the services of number one midfield target Conor Gallagher from rivals Chelsea this month.
Gallagher is keen on remaining at Stamford Bridge but has just 18 months left to run on his current deal in west London, while some at the club are eager to cash in on the 23-year-old.
Ndombele has struggled for form on the back on his 2019 club-record arrival from Lyon and has previously endured loan stints with the French side, Napoli and most recently Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old France international ranks fifth for tackles per 90 (3.4) in the Turkish Super Lig this season.
