Arsenal midfielder set for surprise Premier League move
Newcastle are ready to intensify their interest in Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere as he edges closer to leaving the north London outfit, reports The Sun.
Wilshere spent last season on loan at Bournemouth after falling down the pecking at Arsenal and the midfielder’s future remains up in the air.
The England international is currently recovering from a broken leg suffered at the end of last season but was keen to force his way back into Arsene Wenger’s first team plans.
However, Wilshere is starting to realise he faces a losing battle and Rafa Benitez is ready to hand the midfielder a way out of Arsenal with the promise of regular first team football at Newcastle.
The newly promoted Premier League outfit are keen to make more signings before the transfer window shuts this month and Benitez will need to strengthen his midfield options following Jonjo Shelvey’s red card on the opening weekend.
Only two players were denied by the woodwork on more occasions in the Premier League last season than Wilshere (5). However, Bournemouth had a better win ratio in the league without the 25-year-old in the starting XI (37.5%) compared to when he was selected from the off (27.3%).
