Manchester United in advanced talks to sign Monaco youngster

Manchester United are believed to be in advanced talks to secure the services of Monaco youngster Bernardo Silva, reports French publication Le 10 Sport.

United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be a huge fan of the Portugal international and has made him one of his number one targets ahead of the summer.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are also thought to be keen on Silva, who registered nine assists in Ligue 1 this season, the second most of all Monaco players in their title winning campaign.

United, though, are believed to be in pole position to sign Silva, who is contracted to the French giants until 2020.

Monaco are under no pressure, but their fine form in Ligue 1 and the Champions League will undoubtedly attract interest from a number of top teams across the continent.

Mourinho has a reported £200m to use to strengthen the United squad this summer, with the 22-year-old one of his top targets.

The Premier League giants have also been linked with moves for James Rodriguez, Neymar and Antoine Griezmann in recent months, though Silva is now supposedly heading Mourinho’s wish list.
