Leicester set to offer hot shot record deal

Leicester will look to offer Jamie Vardy a club-record new deal in order to ward off interest from other clubs, according to the Daily Star.

Vardy, 28, has been in sensational form since the start of the season and broke Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premier League record for scoring in 11 consecutive matches last weekend.

The England international has since been linked with a number of the top English clubs, but Leicester are set to offer the former non-league striker a new £90,000-a-week deal, despite still having more than two years left to run on his current deal.

The Leicester No.9 has scored at least four more goals than any other player in the Premier League this season (14) and his performances have been integral to moving Leicester to joint top of the table.
