Leicester star refuses to commit future to Foxes

Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante has refused to commit his future to the King Power Stadium beyond the end of the season.

Kante has been one of the signings of the season and his dynamic performances in midfield have been a big factor behind Leicester’s remarkable campaign.

The former Caen midfielder capped off his full international debut for France on Tuesday night by scoring on his 25th birthday and his performances this season have already seen him linked to Chelsea and Juventus.

The 25-year-old still has more than three years remaining on his current deal with Leicester but he has refused to commit beyond the end of this season opening the door to interest from rival clubs.

“I will fight for Leicester this season and next season we never know and we will see,” he told Sky Sports, via The Daily Mirror.

“At this moment I am focused on Leicester. We have to finish well this season but I don’t mind about [being linked with] the other clubs.

“We will fight for the title but it is not [our] due. We have to fight in every game. There are seven games left. We hope to win the league, but it’s not finished."

Kante has completed more tackles and interceptions combined this season than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues and it’s understandably to see why bigger clubs are interested in signing the France international, who adds so much to your midfield.
