Shakhtar Donetsk striker Alex Teixeira has revealed Chelsea, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have made offers for his services.
Teixeira has started the season in tremendous form in the league and has managed to carry that over into the Champions League where it has courted the attention from several of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Chelsea’s poor start to the season has led many to suggest Jose Mourinho will go out and strengthen his strike force in the winter transfer market, although the Shakhtar frontman believes it would be very hard for a deal to be done in January.
“I’m glad to have received a proposal from Chelsea, they’re a great club in Europe,” Teixeira is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror. “What I’ve seen, and what my manager has said, is that Chelsea, Juventus and PSG made offers. But Chelsea and Juventus are deeper into negotiations. They’re three big clubs. Wherever I go, I’ll be happy.
“It’s my dream [to go to England]. I’ve spoken to many people who have the desire to play in the Premier League, because I think it’s the best in the world, more contested, and I want to have this challenge in my career.
“I think it’ll be very difficult in January because it is in the middle of the championship. Shakhtar have said they won’t let me leave in January, only at the end of the season.”
The 25-year-old is Shakhtar’s highest rated player by some considerable distance in the Champions League this season (7.31), having scored three goals in five matches this term, including a brace against Real Madrid in midweek.
