Dani Ceballos would prefer to return to Real Betis next season over prolonging his stay at Arsenal, claims Estadio Deportivo.
The Spain international has spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Arsenal after falling down the pecking order at parent club Real Madrid.
Ceballos' move to the Emirates was considered a coup for Arsenal but the 23-year-old has not made the impact many expected.
The Spanish midfielder has struggled for form and fitness this season and has been limited to just 10 league starts for the Gunners.
Ceballos missed most of November and the entire festive period through injury before returning to the first-team picture in the middle of February.
New Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta thinks highly of Ceballos and started the midfielder in each of the club's last three league matches before the outbreak of COVID-19.
However, Ceballos has dealt the Gunners with a blow as it has emerged he would rather go back to Betis than sign for Arsenal on a full-time basis.
Ceballos earned a high profile move to Madrid in the summer of 2017 following a standout campaign for Betis where he garnered a WhoScored rating of 7.32.
Arsenal have a far superior win ratio in the Premier League this season from the 10 games Ceballos has started (60%) compared to the 18 league matches he has not started (16.7%).
