Burnley are poised to add Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford to their squad before the transfer window closes on Wednesday, according to The Guardian.
Bamford, 22, had been linked with a move to Aston Villa earlier this month but the Clarets have moved ahead of the race to sign the young striker on a season-long loan deal.
The England Under-21 international’s career has stagnated since he dazzled for Middlesbrough in the Championship two seasons ago.
Bamford scored 17 goals in that season but hasn’t scored a competitive goal since then during frustrating loan spells at Crystal Palace and Norwich.
