Romelu Lukaku’s future continues to look bleak at Everton after telling manager Ronald Koeman he has no interest in signing a new deal.
Everton had been close to securing Lukaku’s long-term future before the former Chelsea performed a sensational u-turn and announced he would not be extending his stay at Goodison Park earlier this year.
Koeman has remained hopeful that the club can find a solution and convince Lukaku to pen fresh terms but the Everton manager has since confirmed there has been no change in stance from the striker as a summer move away edges closer.
“[Lukaku] told me he won’t sign a new contract,” Bleacher Report quote Koeman as saying in the build up to Saturday’s match against Burnley.
The Belgium international was heavily linked with a return to Chelsea last summer only for Koeman, who was only just made Everton manager, to convince him to stay at the club but even the Dutchman seems powerless to keeping one of the best young strikers in Europe.
Lukaku is running away with the golden boot in the Premier League, having opened up a four goal lead on nearest rival Harry Kane (Lukaku – 23 goals scored).

I really can't understand why he's so desperate to go back to Chelsea, plenty of other big clubs will take him.
