Sheffield United break transfer record again with £10m Mousset signing

Sheffield United have completed the signing of Bournemouth forward Lys Mousset, the club has confirmed.

The Frenchman arrives at Brammall Lane for a reported fee of £10m and will be the third time this summer that the Blades have broken their transfer record.

The 23-year-old becomes the newly promoted outfit’s fifth summer signing in total and laves Bournemouth after three unsuccessful seasons on the south coast.

Arriving from Le Havre in 2016 with a reputation as one of the hottest prospects in France, Mousset failed to cement a place in the Cherries side under Eddie Howe.

The striker started fewer Premier League games last season than in any other at the club (one) but did make 23 substitute appearances - two more than any other player in the division.

In 58 league appearances at the Vitality Stadium in total, of which only eight were starts, Mousset scored just three goals, netting more times (five) in just eight appearances at France U21 level.
