Leicester hero set for summer exit

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is set to leave the club at the end of the season in pursuit of Champions League football, reports the Guardian.

The Algerian played a key role in the Foxes title win last year and drew widespread plaudits, with rumours linking him with moves to Barcelona and Arsenal.

While Mahrez has struggled to light up the Premier League once more this term, he still has admirers across the continent, with a series of mature showings in the Champions League doing his chances of a big money summer move the world of good.

The 26-year-old penned a new deal earlier in the season, so Leicester are under no pressure to sell, and conversely can command a top fee for Mahrez.

It’s a similar predicament for teammate Demarai Gray, who plays in the same position as Mahrez at the King Power Stadium.

The 20-year-old is keen to secure regular first team action to further his career, with the young winger showing glimpses of his potential when called upon under both Claudio Ranieri and Craig Shakespeare, but has become frustrated at a lack of game time.

Gray has three years left to run on his current deal at the King Power Stadium, though his future is likely to become clearer at the end of the current campaign.
