Mesut Ozil made to wait for dream move away from Arsenal

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil's hopes of securing a January move to Manchester United are all but over according to The Mirror.

The Germany international has been linked with a move away from the Emirates all season having failed to agree terms on a new contract in London.

The 29-year-old has now been advised that he will need to wait until that deal expires before he can have a potential reunion with Jose Mourinho, which would see him switch to the Gunners' fierce Premier League rivals on a free next summer.

However, reports from the Manchester Evening News suggest that the United boss is yet to decide whether to make a move for the player that he coached whilst at Real Madrid.

In three La Liga seasons together in the Spanish capital, Ozil registered a whopping 47 assists and scored a further 19 goals, so it would be no surprise if Mourinho felt he could get the best out of the Arsenal man once more.
