Manchester United target Bale set for improved Real Madrid terms

Real Madrid will hand Gareth Bale a stunning new deal to end reports of a summer move to Manchester United, claims The Sun.

Bale has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League after hinting at a possible exit in the immediate aftermath of last season’s Champions League final.

The Wales international dropped down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane last term but new boss Julen Lopeteugi has no intention of losing the forward this summer.

Madrid have already sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus but Lopeteugi believes his departure will liberate Bale on the pitch, with Karim Benzema also set to stay.

Bale has been offered assurances about his position at Madrid and now the European champions will table a new deal to extend his stay beyond 2022.

United have been heavily linked with a stunning move for Bale in each of the last two summers but Jose Mourinho's side look set to miss out once again.

The former Tottenham ace only started 23 games across league and European competition last term, but still managed to score 19 goals across both tournaments.
