Juventus target wants to leave Fiorentina this summer

Juventus have been given encouragement in their pursuit of Federico Bernardeschi after Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino revealed their No.10 wants to leave the club.

Bernardeschi has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Juventus but Fiorentina had hoped the 23-year-old would agree terms to an improved contract.

The Italy international, who scored two goals in four games at the U21 European Championships last month, has two years remaining on his existing Fiorentina deal and his agent, Beppe Bozzo, has told the club his client has no interest in signing a new deal.

“Bozzo told us that Bernardeschi has no intention of renewing his contract, despite a very important proposal on the table,” he told Sky Italia, via Football Italia. “He wants to leave.

Juventus? Federico is part of Italian football heritage and we have the privilege of his presence. We’ll see what to do…”

Reports had emerged before the revelation suggesting that Juventus would pay around €40m (£35m) for Bernardeschi, which would make him one of the club’s most expensive players of all-time, and include either Tomas Rincon or Stefano Sturaro in the deal.

Bernardeschi, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past, is coming off the back of his best ever goalscoring campaign. The Italian scored 11 goals for Fiorentina in Serie A last season, eight more than he managed in his first two campaigns combined.
