Chelsea will reignite their interest in Santos midfielder Thiago Maia when the transfer window opens in January, according to The Daily Mail.
Maia, 19 was part of the Brazil squad that won Olympic gold in Rio this summer and Chelsea had looked to complete his transfer before the tournament.
Santos, however, were reluctant to lose a key player before the season finishes in December and Chelsea will therefore pick up their interest in the new year.
Of the 36 teenagers to feature in the Brasileirao this season, only Douglas (109) has completed more tackles and interceptions than Maia (75).
