Gareth Southgate is ready to unleash his young lions against Germany on Friday with Swansea starlet Tammy Abraham set to lead the line for England at Wembley, reports The Daily Mail.
Injuries to key players has left Southgate with the barebones of his England squad for upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil and he will even be forced to dip into the U21 squad for Tuesday’s clash against the latter.
Abraham, who usually turns out for the U21s, was named in Southgate’s 25-man squad at the start of the month after making an impressive start to the campaign on loan at Swansea and now he will be rewarded with a full debut on Friday.
The 21-year-old left Chelsea on a season-long loan deal in order to find regular first-team football in the Premier League and his decision is already paying dividends with international recognition at the highest level.
Abraham is one of three youngsters that will make a full England debut against Germany, with Crystal Palace midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford also down to start at Wembley.
The Chelsea loan star has netted four of the seven goals Swansea have scored in the Premier League this season, while also registering one assist for Paul Clement’s strugglers.
