Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Southampton ace Virgil van Dijk, according to L’Equipe, via Get French Football.
Van Dijk, 25, is expected to be one of the most sought after defenders in the January transfer window with the likes of Manchester City reported to be interested in his services.
The Netherlands international has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League since joining Southampton from Celtic in 2015 and those in England are not the only ones to have noticed his performances.
PSG are expected to be heavily involved in the January transfer window with a deal to sign Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg reportedly close to be completed, but Unai Emery is also looking to strengthen defensively.
The Ligue 1 champions did not have time to find a replacement for David Luiz in the summer and have now reportedly earmarked Van Dijk as a top transfer target for when the window re-opens.
In the last two Premier League campaigns only Alexis Sanchez (11) has won the WhoScored Man of the Match award more times than Van Dijk (10).
