Everton want player-plus-cash deal from Tottenham for Digne

Tottenham have been told it will require Danny Rose moving to Goodison Park plus money in order to prise Lucas Digne away from Everton this summer, reports The Daily Mirror.

Everton signed Digne from Barcelona in an £18m deal last summer and the France international enjoyed a thoroughly impressive maiden campaign for the Toffees.

Digne’s eye-catching displays have landed the left-back on Tottenham’s radar, who are expected to be one of the busiest teams in the summer transfer market.

Tottenham haven’t made a single signing since January 2018 but have already had a club-record bid rejected for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso and are now eyeing Digne.

Mauricio Pochettino has been told there will be money to spend this summer and he wants to nail down a first-choice left-back for next season.

Ben Davies and Rose rotated throughout the season and Tottenham will have to send the latter to Everton to get a deal over the line for Digne.

Everton’s preference is to keep Digne and the 25-year-old still has four years left to run on his current deal.

However, if Tottenham handed Rose over as a replacement for Digne as well as money then Marco Silva’s side could be convinced to part ways with the Frenchman.

Digne finished his first year in England in the WhoScored Team of the Season in the Premier League and played a direct hand in eight goals from left-back (four goals, four assists).

Furthermore, only Christian Eriksen (six) scored more goals from outside the box than Digne (four) in the Premier League last season.
