Inter vs Juventus: Dybala and Benatia dropped for Juventus

Juventus manager Max Allegri has left Paulo Dybala and Medhi Benatia on the bench for their huge clash with rivals Inter.

The Old Lady’s lead at the top of Serie A has been cut to one point by Napoli and any slip up away to Inter could allow their rivals to leapfrog them in the table.

Napoli travel to Florence to play Fiorentina on Sunday and know there is a chance Juventus will drop points against a side desperately looking to finish in the top four.

Allegri has made the bold decision to drop Dybala for Saturday night’s clash in San Siro. The 24-year-old is Juventus’ highest WhoScored rated player (7.78) in Serie A this season and their top scorer.

The Juventus head coach will instead hope that Dybala’s international team-mate, Gonzalo Higuain, can come out on top in the battle of the Argentinean strikers.

His opposite number, Mauro Icardi, will likely be left out of Argentina’s 2018 World Cup squad in favour of Higuain, but has scored 11 more league goals than the Juventus striker this term.

Not only that, but against only Sampdoria (11) and Fiorentina (10) has Icardi scored more goals against in his career than Juventus (7).

Luciano Spalletti’s side are unbeaten in their last eight Serie A home matches and have kept clean sheets in each of their last four in San Siro.
