Jorginho’s agent has confirmed the Brazilian midfielder is ready to commit his long-term future to Napoli.
The 23-year-old’s future looked destined to be away from Napoli over the summer, but he has since established himself as an integral player under Maurizio Sarri.
And according to his agent, Joao Santos, he is now ready to sign a new deal before the year is out, despite still having three years left to run on his current contract.
“We are ready to sign the Napoli contract renewal by the end of the year,” Jorginho’s agent told Radio Crc.
“The club can still fight for first place in Serie A and I think we’ll only really know the favourites for the Scudetto in March.
“Miralem Pjanic is such a strong player, yet he sacrificed himself to mark Jorginho in Napoli-Roma. It’s pleasing, as that means my client is considered very dangerous for the opposition.”
Jorginho has attracted attention for his passing and ability to dictate the tempo of matches. In fact, no player averages more passes per game across Europe’s top five leagues than Jorginho this season (95.4).
