Forgotten Manchester United man set for Spain switch

Real Sociedad are primed to complete the signing of Manchester United outcast Adnan Januzaj for €11m, according to France Football.

The Belgium international spent last season on loan at relegated Sunderland, yet failed to impress, with United manager Jose Mourinho supposedly deciding on the winger’s future back in April.

The 22-year-old promised so much when he broke onto the scene in 2013, yet has failed to live up to his immense potential, with United now prepared to cut their losses on the wideman.

Roma had also been linked with a move for Januzaj, but are set to miss out on his signature with Real Sociedad closing in on the youngster.

Januzaj made 18 league starts for Sunderland last season, yet failed to score and provided just three assists to return a WhoScored rating of just 6.52.

Fellow loanee Andreas Pereira, who spent last season with Granada, is now expected to take Januzaj’s place in the United squad following a respectable season for the La Liga side, where he found the back of the net five times and registered a further three assists.
