Tottenham are preparing a big money move for RB Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer, reports Bild via The Daily Star.
Sabitzer netted twice in RB Leipzig's 3-0 Champions League win over Tottenham in a man of the match display earlier this month, a result that confirmed Spurs' exit from Europe's elite club competition.
Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Austrian, but it's believed RB Leipzig will demand at least €50m for the 26-year-old.
With Eric Dier focusing on developing as a centre-back, Mourinho is wary at being caught short in midfield with Sabizter a top target for the Spurs head coach.
Mourinho had been keen to add to his squad in January and secured the services of Gedson Fernandes and Steven Bergwijn, but is looking at bringing in an experienced head in midfield.
Sabitzer has scored eight goals and provided five assists in the Bundesliga this season, with his good form yielding a WhoScored rating of 7.32.
