Italian giants eye move for Manchester United defender

Juventus, Napoli and Roma are all interested in signing Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian at the end of the season, reports Calciomercato, via Football Italia.

Darmian has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular under Jose Mourinho and will surely go down as one of the worst signings from Louis van Gaal’s time at Old Trafford.

With United set to target more full backs at the end of the season, this may prove Darmain’s last season at Old Trafford.

However, the versatile 27-year-old is reportedly wanted by the likes of Juventus, Roma and Napoli, who all want to strengthen at the back this summer.

The Italy international has managed more minutes in United’s Champions League campaign (203) than he has in the Premier League (181) this season.

Unsurprisingly, United have a better record in the Premier League under Mourinho when Darmian hasn’t started (57.6%) compared to his 17 starts (41.2%).
