Tottenham slap extraordinary £30m price tag on midfielder

Tottenham are open to offers for Moussa Sissoko but will demand the £30m fee they paid for the midfielder 18 months ago, reports The Daily Mirror.

Spurs signed Sissoko from Newcastle in a stunning £30m deal after Euro 2016 but the France international has struggled to make any impact at the club.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to bolster his options in the January transfer window and is hoping to use the funds raised from Sissoko’s sale to sign new players.

However, Tottenham’s valuation could prove a major stumbling block in their attempts to shift the 28-year-old.

Despite his status at Tottenham, Sissoko has surprisingly started 11 Premier League matches this season. In fact, the Frenchman has raked up more league minutes this term than his debut campaign for Spurs.

Tottenham actually have a better record in the Premier League when Sissoko (68.4%) has started compared to when he hasn’t (61%) during his time at the club.
