Liverpool have put all contract talks and recruitment plans on hold until further notice due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all but ending any chances of signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig this summer, reports The Daily Mail.
Werner has been heavily linked with a move to the Reds in recent months, with head coach Jurgen Klopp keen on adding another striker to the ranks.
The Germany international has been in excellent form for RB Leipzig, rattling in 21 league goals for the title contenders before all football, with Belarus the exception in Europe, suspended to help combat the virus.
And a big money move to the Premier League, with Liverpool the favourites to sign Werner, had been in the pipeline, despite penning a new deal last summer.
However, that deal is, for the time being, on hold with Liverpool's summer recruitment also grinding to a halt.
With contract talks on hold, too, it remains to be seen what will happen with those who had been looking to extend their stays at Anfield.
Most WhoScored man of the match awards in the Bundesliga this season:

🥇 T. Werner (@DieRotenBullen) -- 8
🥈 S. Gnabry (@FCBayern) -- 7
🥉 J. Sancho (@BVB) -- 6 pic.twitter.com/0rEUZEpKeL
Werner's good form in Germany's top tier this term is reflected in that he has won more WhoScored man of the match awards (8) than any other player in the Bundesliga this season.
Kloop should continue to use 4-3-3 with Firmino as false 9,he doesn't need Werner.
