Barcelona offer player exchange deal for Tottenham flop

Barcelona are keen on signing Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham and are prepared to throw in a number of fringe players to sweeten the deal, reports Sky Sports.

Ndombele joined Spurs for a club-record £54m from Lyon last summer yet has failed to live up to expectations, with injury and fitness concerns plaguing his time in north London.

Head coach Jose Mourinho has publicly criticised the France international in the past and it's heightened speculation over a possible summer exit.

And Barcelona are believed to be monitoring his situation as they seek to bolster their midfield in the transfer window.

Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal are set to leave the Blaugrana when the transfer window opens, while Arthur has been linked with a summer exit.

The Brazilian, incidentally, has supposedly attracted watchful glances from Spurs, along with Inter, while Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo have both been mooted as makeweights in any deal for Ndombele.

The 23-year-old has had a direct hand in just four league goals this season, with his two goals coming in the opening weeks of the 2019/20 campaign.
