Aston Villa are believed to be readying a move for Burnley defender Michael Keane in the New Year, reports the Sun on Sunday.
The Villans currently sit seven points from safety following defeat to Watford on Saturday and need to solidify at the back if they are to harbour any hopes of securing their top-flight status this season.
As such, the club are believed to have identified Keane as a possible addition to the side once the transfer window reopens in January.
However, they would face competition from Everton for the former Manchester United defender's signature, with the Toffees credited with an interest.
Keane, 22, has impressed for Burnley this season, gaining a WhoScored rating of 7.10.
