Leicester are set to reward Jamie Vardy with a new contract extension after the veteran won the Golden Boot award last season, claims The Daily Telegraph.
The 33-year-old still has two years left to run on his current deal but Leicester want to reward the former England international with a further 12 month to see him through to his 36th birthday.
Vardy scored more Premier League goals than any other player last season (23) and Leicester's proposed new terms will cement his status as one of the club's top earners.
With Ben Chilwell on the verge of joining Chelsea, it's important Leicester have secured the long-term futures of James Maddison and Vardy.
Things could have very quickly gone south for Leicester after spectacularly missing out on a top four finish last season.
However, Brendan Rodgers is looking to keep the bulk of his Leicester squad together and is planning new additions.
Since firing Leicester to the Premier League title in 2015/16, only Harry Kane (119) and Sergio Aguero (102) have scored more goals than Vardy (98).
