Borussia Dortmund has dismissed captain and long-term Manchester United target Mats Hummels is unhappy at the club.
Hummels, 26, was heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga giants over the summer but resisted any temptations take the captain’s armband this season.
However, reports have emerged suggesting the Germany international has fallen out with senior figures at the club, although Dortmund have since refuted those claims.
“Everybody gets criticised,” said Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke. “But honestly, that massive criticism on the last days is unreasonably high in my opinion.
“Today I read of a problematic relation between Mats and us. But that’s definitely not true. Mat Hummels is a very important player for us. He is our captain. I have an excellent relationship with him. Sometimes he is not too easy, but that does not have to be a disadvantage.
“He is a very decent guy, and we will support him entirely. There is nothing more to say about it.”
The Germany World Cup winner scored an own goal in their shock 3-1 defeat to Hamburg at the weekend, but his performances have been relatively good up until that point in the Bundesliga.
In fact, only three central defenders have garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Hummels (7.34) in the Bundesliga this season.

Probably just Premier League media fabricating something to unsettle him.
