Aguero makes Guardiola plea

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has revealed he wants to be coached by Pep Guardiola in the future, according to the Daily Mirror.

Aguero, 27, who is currently out injured for up to a month, insists he is still happy being managed by Manuel Pellegrini.

Reports emerged earlier in the month claiming that Guardiola had struck a verbal agreement with City to become their manager at the end of the season, which would please Aguero after his latest confession.

“I would like to be coached by him in the future because he is a great coach,” Aguero is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror. “But today I’m so happy with Manuel Pellegrini.”

The former Atletico Madrid striker was stretchered off during Argentina’s shock 2-0 defeat to Ecuador last week and is set to be sidelined for a period of four weeks, which comes as a huge blow to City’s ambitions this season.

Aguero had only returned to form prior to the international break where he struck five goals with just nine touches during a devastating 20 minute spell in City’s 6-1 victory over league strugglers Newcastle.
