Antoine Griezmann has revealed his future at Atletico Madrid hinges on how long Diego Simeone stays at the club.
There was doubts over Griezmann’s future at the La Liga giants over the summer but the France international ended up signing a new five-year deal in June.
The France international has revealed that Simeone’s decision to stay with Atletico played a huge part in his decision to commit his long-term future to Los Rojiblancos.
“I called [Simeone] before extending my contract and he confirmed he was staying,” the forward told Telefoot, via Football Espana.
“For me, it was important to know that, being at a club with a coach who trusted me. I’m happy in Spain and I can still learn a lot from Simeone. I’d only think about leaving if Simeone left for PSG or wherever.”
In the last three La Liga campaigns no forward has completed more tackles than Griezmann (50).
