Premier League clubs have been put on red alert after RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner hinted he would prefer a move to England over Spain.
Werner is one of the most exciting young talents in Germany and established himself as a key player for Leipzig.
The 21-year-old was linked with a move to Real Madrid after the European Champions missed out on Kylian Mbappe, but Werner has hinted a move to the Premier League is more likely in the future.
“In Spain, there are a maximum of three clubs – Barcelona, Real and Atletico Madrid,” Werner told The Daily Mirror.
“In England there’s more: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.
“Bayern [Munich] is also a big club. But for me it is not a topic that I am concerned with.”
Werner still has three years remaining on his current deal but is expected to be one of the most in-demand strikers next summer, although Leipzig are hopeful fo rewarding the German with a new long-term deal.
Since the start of last season, Werner has scored more goals (24) than any other player aged 21 or younger in Europe’s top five leagues.
i wish he put on The reds jersey next season! Will be a perfect buy for liverpoool
what a joker
@pyt55 Well he is not joking, he has a big chance of more playtime in EPL clubs, than signing for these Spanish giants.
