AC Milan have failed in their attempts to bring Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to Corriere della Sera.
The Rossoneri are reportedly on the market for a new central midfielder with the likes of Ever Banega and Fellaini on their radar.
However, Milan will now have to avert their attentions elsewhere after having a loan bid rejected for the Belgium international and unable to afford to match his €25m (£19m) valuation and £2.6m annual salary.
Fellaini joined United as David Moyes’ first signing at the club in September 2013 but has failed convinced fans he is a player of United’s traditions.
Of players to have featured in at least 20 league games since then, no player averages more fouls per game than Fellaini (2.1).
