Ancelotti confirms intentions to return to England

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is targeting a return to the Premier League before retirement.

The Italian had been heavily linked with the Liverpool job before the role of succeeding Brendan Rodgers was given to Jurgen Klopp last week.

Ancelotti, 56, has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid at the end of last season and has confirmed he is targeting a return to management at the turn of the year.

“Before I end my career I’d like to make another experience in England,” Ancelotti told Corriere dello Sport.

“Until few weeks ago I was terrified by the possibility of someone calling me, but now I’m close to coming back to action.

“Permitting nothing strange happens, I’ll be ready to come back in January. I’d like to coach in the Premier League: it’s the ideal environment. It’s a lot of work but it’s with the right pressures.”

Ancelotti won the Premier League title and an FA Cup during his two years at Chelsea between 2009-2011.
